About the show:
During the pandemic, comedians worldwide have taken to the stratosphere, aka Zoom, to continue performing their craft. Last July, Lisa Geduldig, the creator and producer of the acclaimed Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ - Jewish comedy on Christmas in a Chinese Restaurant (the 28th annual took place online this past December with over 2000 viewers) and other popular San Francisco comedy shows, launched a new monthly comedy series Lockdown Comedy (on the 3rd Thursday of the month) last July. The show regularly caters to 250 attendees monthly from throughout the US, and occasionally elsewhere.
Lisa (in Florida) and her tech co-host/DJ, Sandy O (in California) are presenting the monthly show on Zoom and featuring comedians from around the US and occasionally across the globe. Last month’s return headliner, Shazia Mirza, performed from London at 2am.
Lisa’s nonagenarian mother, Arline, with whom she has been hunkered down and spending lockdown in Florida, is each month’s special guest. Arline did stand up for her first time last July in the virtual comedy club her daughter is running out of her retirement community home. Arline and Lisa were recently featured in a Los Angeles Times article, How A California Comic Launched A Virtual Stand-up Show and Discovered A New Star: Mom and in a KTVU Channel 2 segment Mother-Daughter Duo Perform Lockdown Comedy.
The Thursday April 15th (6pm Pacific / 7pm Mountain / 8pm Central / 9pm Eastern) Lockdown Comedy show will feature: Jann Karam (LA), Becky Braunstein (Portland), Bob McIntyre (SF), and from Florida Lisa Geduldig and her 90 year old mother, budding comedian, Arline Geduldig, the monthly acclaimed special guest.
